We will demonstrate the entire cold-process method—from mixing oils and lye, through saponification, to cutting and packaging your own soap bars. Soap Myth: Lye soap is dangerous because of lye.
Truth: While lye (sodium hydroxide) is caustic in its raw form, the saponification process uses all the lye, leaving none in the finished soap. Today’s artisan soaps are safe, gentle, and often better for your skin than commercial options packed with synthetic chemicals.
